LARKANA, Dec 6: The Chandka Medical College deserved the status of a medical university said LUMHS Vice-Chancellor Prof Naushad Shaikh at an inauguration ceremony of a three-day symposium at the college here on Thursday.

The Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences (LUMHS) Vice-Chancellor said that the Chandka Medical College (CMC) deserved the status because it fulfils all the prerequisites essential for a postgraduate institute.

He asked when the Dow Medical College in Karachi and Liaquat Medical College Jamshoro could be elevated into universities, than why the institute of such repute could not become a fully fledged medical university.

He said the results of CMC were far better than all other medical colleges falling in purview of LUMHS.

Around 300 delegates from all over the country were participating in this symposium where 130 research papers would be read out on different topics.
