SWABI, Dec 6: Chief of his own faction of the Pakistan People’s Party Aftab Ahmad Sherpao has said his party will provide incentives to sick industrial units of Gadoon Amazai if it wins elections.

Speaking at a convention held here on Thursday to launch his party’s election campaign, he accused the former Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal provincial government of ignoring the Swabi district. He said previous PPP governments had given a lot of incentives to the Gadoon industrial estate.

Mr Sherpao said Gadoon Amazai was a unique industrial estate due to its location and it needed incentives because raw material reached there from Karachi after considerable delay.

He said the federal government had allocated Rs300 million for supply of gas to different areas of the district but completion of the project had been delayed due to slow work by the Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited. “Swabi needs projects like the Pehur High Level Canal and we will carry out such development programmes in future,” he said.
