Six killed in Jhang accident

JHANG, March 30: Six people were killed and seven others injured, three of them seriously, in a head-on collision between a passenger bus and a trailer near Taqiabad, on the Jhang-Chiniot road, some 45 kilometres from here, late on Friday night.

The driver of a Lahore-bound bus, in a bid to overtake a truck near Taqiabad bus stop, lost control due to high speed and collided with a trailer coming from the opposite direction. Mukhtar, Amanullah, Mohammed Aslam, Zulfiqar, Bashiran Bibi and a minor girl Naheed Fatima, all residents of Bhakar, died on the spot. The three seriously injured people, Ghulam Fatima (the mother of deceased Naheed), Qasim and Usman, have been admitted to the Jhang DHQ Hospital.

The remaining four are being treated at the Bhowana RHC.
