PML (N) mortgaged to Benazir: Pervaiz

Published December 10, 2007

LAHORE, Dec 9: Nawaz Sharif has mortgaged the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) to Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairwoman Benazir Bhutto therefore his supporters should not ‘waste’ their vote, Pakistan Muslim League (PML) Punjab President Pervaiz Elahi said here on Sunday.

Speaking at a ceremony to distribute party tickets among PML’s provincial candidates at his residence, Pervaiz Elahi said a man who was “trying to attach himself with the PPP” could not be a ‘Muslim Leaguer’. He said the PML-N had lost its identity therefore those casting their vote for it would benefit the PPP.

He asked ‘Muslim Leaguers’ to distance themselves from Sharif and join the Pakistan Muslim League “for the security and integrity of Pakistan”. He said the PML government made ‘record’ development and introduced ‘revolutionary’ reforms in education, health, agriculture, industry and infrastructure sectors.
