HARIPUR, Dec 10: Provincial Minister for Law Justice (retd) Mian Mohammad Ajmal said on Monday that intolerance ruined peace in society. Speaking to juvenile prisoners at the Central Jail, where he attended a function held in connection with the International Children Day, the minister said the protection of the rights of individuals could only be ensured when the spirit of tolerance and respect was imbibed among people.

The function was jointly organised by Save the Children Sweden and the ministry of law, justice and human rights.

The minister said that there was need for developing tolerance among individuals to ensure peace and tranquillity in society.

Mian Mohammad Ajmal said the government was making efforts for social rehabilitation of juvenile offenders.

The minister met female staff members of the Human Development Organisation and praised their efforts for imparting education to women prisoners and running school of non-formal education and skill development programmes.
