NAWABSHAH, Dec 10: Two HIV positive (AIDS) cases were detected in Daulatpur taluka of Nawabshah.

According to reports, a man namely R.M and resident of Daulatpur taluka, was detected HIV positive after blood screening. He was recently deported from UAE after being detected HIV positive.

Dr Asadullah Dahiri, epidemiologist and disease surveillance coordinator at EDO health office Nawabshah told Dawn that the man, after his return from Dubai, reported to Sindh Aids control programme and also carried out the blood screening of his wife which was also reported positive.

He further said that the patient later contacted one of their rural health centre for assistance and the matter was reported to them.

He further informed that the matter has again been taken up with Sindh Aids control programme management in Karachi for treatment. He said that a team would visit the family and would carry out blood screening of his other family members and contacts.
