HYDERABAD, Dec 11: It is our duty not only to ensure fair and free elections but also to work for the welfare of people, said caretaker Sindh Minister for Population Welfare and Women Development, Ms Nadra Panjwani.

Speaking to a gathering during a visit to the Training Institute for Population Welfare Hyderabad, on Monday, she vowed to resolve problems related to it in the short tenure she was here.

She said officers and staff of the department were welcome to approach her for their problems.

Provincial Secretary for Population Welfare Ilmuddin Bullo said the department was trying to resolve problems of doctors and staff for which the caretaker minister had visited some eight districts.

Principal Dr Mohammad Khan Memon apprised the minister and Secretary about the performance of the Institute.

Later, the minister inspected various parts of the institute and visited the Girls’ Hostel.

Additional Secretary of the Department, Bashir Ahmed Mangi was also present on the occasion.

TANDO ALLAHYAR: District Nazim Tando Allahyar, Dr Rahila Magsi said more development work has been carried out in Tando Allahyar district as compared to other newly created districts. A network of development schemes had been launched throughout the district, she said.

Speaking during the inauguration of a CNG Station at Keeria Shakh Road, Tando Allahyar on Tuesday she said supply of gas to far-flung villages, a kidney centre and other health facilities available to the people of Tando Allahyar were not available in any other newly created district.
