KARACHI, Dec 16: Mohammad Basharat struck a second-half goal to help Pakistan Navy draw 2-2 with KESC in the Premier Soccer League on Sunday.

Although KESC took a confident start by going 2-0 ahead before the break, they failed to maintain the lead in the second session.

Abdul Ghafoor opened the scoring in the 18th minute before Aurangzeb slammed home in the 36th minute.

Navy recovered after the interval reduced the margin through Shahzad Ahmad in the 53rd minute. Basharat slotted home the equaliser in the 64th minute.

KESC have 27 points, while sailors 23 points from 16 matches.

Railways managed a 2-2 draw with Wohaib Club thanks to equaliser from Rizwan.

Mudassir Butt gave Wohaib Club 21st-minute lead but Ehsan made it 1-1 within nine minutes. Faisal Khan fired home in the 74th minute for Wohaib Club. Railways’ Rizwan came into action within 55 seconds to score the leveller.

PIA had to struggle against Karachi Port trust (KPT) to score a narrow 2-1 win.

Zafar Majeed gave KPT lead in the 53rd minute lead. PIA were saved when they scored twice late in the second half.

Imran Khan drew level in the 84th minute, while Zeeshan Ali netted the match-winner two minutes later to rescue his side from defeat.

In another match, Afghan Club held Khan Research Laboratories to a goalless draw.

The match between Pakistan Army and PMC which was scheduled for Monday will now be played after Eidul Azha.—PPI
