KARACHI, Dec 17: The Pakistan Billiards and Snooker Association (PBSA) has decided to allow four provincial junior champions direct entry in 33rd National Snooker Championship to be held in February next.

A spokesman of the PBSA said on Monday that it was done to provide exposure to young cueist as they would be reviving the national junior competition after a lapse of nearly 15 years.

He said Sindh and Punjab associations have conducted the provincial junior contest while NWFP and Balochistan will be shortly going through the programme.

PBSA spokesman said they also informed all the provincial bodies to complete their competition and submit the names of the players.

As per format of the nationals, eight cueists each from Punjab, Sindh and NWFP and four from Balochistan will join the 16-ranked cuemen in the National Championship.

Overall 48 cueists from across the country will be featuring in the ten-day championship.—APP
