LARKANA, Dec 20: Chairman Sindh National Front (SNF) Mumtaz Ali Bhutto predicated a coalition government in Sindh as a result of the election where PML (Q), Pakistan People’s Party and Muttahida Qaumi Movement would be the key players.
Speaking in Usman Jeho, Islampur and Motanpur villages on Thursday, he said that the next government would hardly last for three months due to differences among coalitions partners.
He alleged that public money was being pumped in the electioneering of PPP and pro-government candidates adding that during previous election Ms Benazir Bhutto had sponsored the election campaign of Ayaz Soomro, an alien to Ratodero and now the municipal funds of Ratodero were being spent on the election campaign of Mr Soomro. He accused taluka nazim of Ratodero, Dr Shafqat Soomro, for bearing the expenses of Soomro’s campaign from government funds.
He said that Sachal Alliance, being the ally of Altaf Unnar, was misusing the zakat and baitulmal funds. They were busy injecting this money to purchase loyalties of their opponents in utter violation of the rules and regulations of the election commission.
All such illegalities and misappropriations of funds were brought to the notice of EC and if it remained unmoved in initiating action, then SNF would knock the doors of the court, he added. He said that the era of excesses of Altaf Unnar would come to an end on January 8 while the leaders of Sachal Alliance would be punished for siphoning-off the public money,
The SNF had extended support to PPP’s candidate Zulfikar Ali Behan on NA-211 (Moro) and Qurban Ali Behan on PS-23. The SNF workers in these constituencies were asked to support them in the election.
Meanwhile, Imtiaz Ahmed Shaikh (PML(F) and Mir Nasrulah Bijarani (PML-Q) contesting for PS-34 (Shikarpur) and NA-217 (Kashmor), met Mumtaz Bhutto in Mirpur Bhutto and sought his support during the elections. Also Ms Maleeha Malik (PML-Q) contesting for NA-208, Sardar Manzoor Ahmed Panhwar (PS-13) and Raja Khan Jakhrani (MMA) contesting for PS-14 met Mumtaz Bhutto and sought his support. Besides, former Sindh chief minister Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim also phoned Bhutto in this connection on Thursday.
