HARIPUR, Dec 20: A woman was killed and 12 others, including a girl, were injured on Thursday when a recklessly driven oil tanker rammed into a passenger van near Sera-i-Saleh, some 3km from here.

The Saddar police quoted one Malik Imtiaz, a passenger of the Abbottabad-bound Toyota Hiace (BM-3755), as saying that he was travelling with other passengers from Rawalpindi to Abbottabad when an oil tanker coming from the opposite direction collided head on with the passenger van while overtaking another vehicle.

The accident left 13 passengers injured, five of them seriously. The injured were taken to the district headquarters hospital, where the doctors pronounced Nafeesa Khatoon, wife of Malik Imtiaz, dead.
