LARKANA: Disease threat to livestock

LARKANA, Dec 25: The Sindh Director Animal Husbandry Dr Ghulam Sarwar Shaikh on Tuesday announced that there are possibilities of spread of animal diseases during the 1st quarter of 2008.

He said that in large animals (cattle and buffalos) hemorrhagic septicemia, anthrax and foot and mouth diseases and in small animals (sheep and goat) enterio toxemia, foot and mouth and anthrax diseases may spread.

He advised all livestock owners to get their animals vaccinated against the contagious diseases from nearest veterinary hospital/dispensary.—APP
