HYDERABAD, Jan 2: The PPP leader and former MPA from Thatta district, Ms Sassui Palijo, has said that the state repression, arrests, registration of false cases and murder of PPP activists cannot demoralise the followers of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto.

In a statement issued here on Wednesday, she said that she was not afraid of arrest and added that she was present in her village.

She said that she was prepared to render all sacrifices for the restoration of democracy.

Ms Palijo who is a candidate for PS-84 seat condemned the arrests of PPP workers and raids on their houses at the behest of the Shirazis.

She said the cases against PPP workers were being registered under the anti-terrorism act to harass and intimidated them. She demanded that all these cases should be withdrawn.

GOODS RECOVERED: Tando Mohammad Khan police recovered 30 trucks load of looted goods on Wednesday.

Speaking at a news conference at his office on Wednesday, the DPO Tando Mohammad Khan, Attaullah Chandio, said that during raids at different places the district police has arrested 41 miscreants and recovered 13 trucks load of looted goods.

He said that the recovered goods included furniture, computers, air-conditioners and other items. He said the district police had also recovered 1,000 bags of wheat which were looted from government godowns. He said so far 87 cases had been registered at different police stations against arsonists and vandals.

Meanwhile over 100 jawans of the army have started patrolling in the city.
