HYDERABAD, Jan 2: A condolence meeting held at Mehran University of Engineering and Technology Jamshoro here on Wednesday condemned the murder of PPP chairperson Benazir Bhutto and said that Pakistan and the Islamic world had suffered tremendous loss in the sad demise of her.

The vice-chancellor of the university, Dr A.Q. K Rajpur presided over the meeting.

The meeting offered fateha for the departed soul and expressed sympathies with the bereaved family.

SU: The vice-chancellor of Sindh University, Mazharul Haq Siddiqui, faculty members, employees and students of the university had expressed profound sorrow over the murder of Benazir Bhutto.

They have expressed sympathies with the bereaved family.

TANDO MOHAMMAD KHAN: The minority wing of the PPP Tando Mohammad Khan lit earthen lamps at the residence of Dr Ashok Kumar here to pay homage to slain leader Benazir Bhutto.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Ashok Kumar, Sunil Kumar and others said that the great leader had sacrificed her life for democracy.

They said that the elections should be held on schedule to complete the mission of Benazir Bhutto. They condemned the registration of false cases against PPP workers.

Qurban Ali Khushik adds from Dadu: A condolence meeting was held at the residence of PPP leader and former law minister Pir Mazharul Haq on Wednesday.

Quran Khawani was held and meal was distributes among the people. Security adviser of Benazir Bhutto, MajGen (retd) Ihsan Ahmed, PPP leaders Haji Zafar Ali Leghari, Qambar Ali Leghari, Rafique Ahmed Jamali, Dost Ali Jessar, Ghulam Shabbir Abro, Adam Solangi, Barrister Pir Mujeebul Haq attended the meeting.

Speaking on the occasion, Ihsan Ahmed said that assassination of Benazir Bhutto was the irreparable loss to the country and Ummah.

Mansoor Mirani adds from Khairpur: Ghaibana Nemaz-i-Janaza of PPP leader Benazir Bhutto was offered at Shah Abdul Latif University (ALU) and fateha was held on Wednesday.

Later, a condolence meeting was held wherein general secretary teachers’ society Syed Asad Shah Abidi, general secretary SALU officers welfare association, Mohammad Murad Pirzado, Bagh Ali Jalbani and Raza Durrani president and general-secretary respectively of SALU Employees Welfare Association paid tributes to Benazir Bhutto.
