KARAK, Jan 3: A candidate of the Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-F, Mufti Muhammad Ajmal, has said the Pakistan Muslim League-Q is the party of President Pervez Musharraf and Ayub Khattak, one of his rivals in the elections, belongs to this party.
He said this while addressing corner meetings on Thursday in Mangarkhel, Zarakhel, Deelimela, Turkikhel and Tappi Karak. He added that if people elected Ayub Khattak, they would be indirectly strengthening the hands of President Musharraf.
He said that Musharraf had taken steps against the seminaries just to appease the West but the people of the country would not vote for his agents.
Mr Ajmal held President Musharraf responsible for the misery of the people of Waziristan, Bajaur and Swat and said the people demanded accountability.
He was of the view that the Musharraf’s regime had failed on all fronts and had damaged the country’s reputation a lot.
Mr Ajmal said that a record number of developmental projects had been completed by the MMA government and he was asking for vote on the basis of the projects completed by his party.
He claimed that his party had been trying for the establishment of a true Islamic system in the country and asked the people to join hands with him in this noble task.
