PESHAWAR, Jan 3: The 55th National Hockey Championship preliminary rounds will be played at three different centres from Jan 22 to 30.

Syed Zahir Shah, Chairman PHF Competition Committee, disclosed that the preliminary qualifying rounds will be played at Faisalabad and Karachi under the auspices of the Punjab Hockey Association (PHA) and the Karachi Hockey Association (KHA).

Zahir, who is also Secretary of the NWFP Hockey Association, further said that the qualifying and final rounds of the departmental teams will be organized under the auspices of NWFP Hockey Association during the same period of Jan 22-30.

The final round of the 55th National Hockey Championship will be held from Feb 6 to 15.

Sixteen teams will play the final round with two regional teams each from Faisalabad and Karachi centres and eight top departmental teams from Peshawar centre to vie for top honours.—APP
