HYDERABAD, Jan 4: A Pakistan People’s Party minority wing leader, Dr Ashok Kumar, has said that the assassination of party leader Benazir Bhutto has intensified the sense of insecurity among the people belonging to religious minorities.
He was speaking at a condolence meeting in Tando Mohammad Khan on Friday.
Mr Kumar said that the people of Pakistan would avenge the murder of their leader on February 18 by casting votes for PPP candidates to restore real democracy in the country for which Ms Bhutto had sacrificed her life.
Later, Mr Kumar told Dawn on telephone that members of minority communities had observed Day of Prayer for Ms Bhutto throughout Sindh on Friday.
He added that prayers had been offered in temples and churches of Sindh for the departed soul and for solidarity of Pakistan.
