Zardari leaves for Dubai

Published January 6, 2008

KARACHI, Jan 5: Pakistan People’s Party co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari left for Dubai on Saturday evening to see off his son Bilawal, who is leaving for London to resume his studies at Oxford on Sunday.

Rehman Malik, a member of the party’s Central Executive Committee, said Mr Zardari would probably return on Sunday.

Mr Zardari’s departure proved that reports about his name being put on the Exit Control List (ECL) were malicious and designed to mislead the people, Mr Malik said. In view of the security threats to Mr Zardari and his family, his travel plan was kept a secret, he added.—Reporter
