HYDERABAD, Jan 7: The Sindh Taraqi Pasand Party chairman, Dr Qadir Magsi, has said that PPP leader Benazir Bhutto was the symbol of federation and her murder was ‘tantamount to murder of Pakistan,’ adding that Pakistan has now become alien for Sindhis.

He was speaking at a condolence meeting held at Shaheed Kamal Rahimoon hall Qasimabad, here on Sunday.

He said that the anger demonstrated in Sindh by the people was quite natural. He said the basic question facing Sindh today was that for how long will the Sindhis continue to receive the bodies of their dear ones.He called upon the people of Sindh to convert their mourning and anger into strength and added that the need of the honour for Sindhis was to strengthen some patriotic political party and give it a mandate as Bengalis had done for Awami League.

He said the basic issue was not the issue of livelihood but of self respect, honour and freedom for the Sindhi people. He called upon the people to resort to social boycott of Arbab Rahim, Liaquat Jatoi and their likes. The STP chief said the Sindhis will no longer accept repression.

He said that Pakistan could only remain intact if the rulers changed their attitude towards Sindh and oppressed nations and gave them full provincial autonomy.

He said notwithstanding different stories being manufactured by the rulers, there was not an iota of doubt that she was eliminated by the powers that be. Magsi came hard on President Musharraf, Mohammedmian Soomro, Chaudhry brothers and Arbab and said that following this colossal loss to the country, Pervez Musharraf and Mohammedmian Soomro had no right to remain in power. He said Arbab Rahim and Liaquat Jatoi had dishonoured Sindh.

He said under a planned conspiracy, the rulers had eliminated her which had rendered Sindh as orphan.

He said Benazir Bhutto was not an ordinary leader as she was recognised as an international leader world over.

The gathering approved several resolutions demanding that the name of Qasimabad should be changed into Benazirabad and demanded that the investigation into the murder of Benazir should be conducted under the aegis of UNO.
