RAWALPINDI, Jan 10: The Scotland Yard team investigating the assassination of PPP chairperson Benazir Bhutto was on Thursday briefed by doctors who were in the emergency department of the Rawalpindi General Hospital, when the former prime minister was brought there after the gun and bomb attack.

The doctors led by Prof Musaddiq Khan and Medical Superintendent Habibullah, called on the British detectives at the ‘investigation centre’ set up at the Police Lines in Rawalpindi.

Sources said that the investigators had asked about Ms Bhutto’s condition when she was brought to the hospital and inquired about her injuries.

The doctors are reported to have told the investigators that Ms Bhutto’s pulse and blood pressure were not recordable. An immediate resuscitation was started and she was taken to the operation theatre. The doctors’ team also showed medical reports of some of the blast victims to the investigators.

The investigators also examined Ms Bhutto’s bullet-proof car twice and minutely checked its sunroof.
