KHAIRPUR, Jan 11: College teachers observed black day on Friday to protest against appointment of a retired professor as principal of degree college Gambat.

Held under the aegis of Sindh Professors and Lecturers Association, Khairpur district, the teachers wore black armbands and hoisted black flags on the college building to register their protest.

They also staged a demonstration outside press club. Speaking on the occasion, Professor Altaf Hussain Khuhro, SPLA district president Professor Noor Ahmed Khuhro and others termed this appointment as illegal.

They criticised the regional director of colleges Sukkur and said he was involved in this appointment.

FLOUR STALLS: The flour mills, chakki owners and office-bearers of Kiryana Merchant Association failed to set up stalls for selling wheat flour at official rates on Friday.
