LAUSANNE, Jan 11: Tokyo officials delivered their bid documents to the IOC on Thursday, becoming the first of the seven applicant cities to submit their files before Monday’s deadline.

Two Tokyo 2016 leaders personally handed over the bid books at the International Olympic Committee (IOC) headquarters in Lausanne.

“The application file allows us to share our technical vision with the IOC, which we believe demonstrates our vibrant city’s suitability and passion to host the world’s greatest event,” Tokyo bid deputy director general Yasuhiro Nakamori said.

The documents are in response to a detailed IOC questionnaire covering details of sports venues, financing, security, transportation, accommodation and other issues.
