PESHAWAR, Jan 13: The Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) leaders have blamed President Pervez Musharraf for what they describe as creating a war-like situation in the country.

Speaking at a news conference here on Saturday, PML-N media coordinator Sher Azam Khan, Karak’s district nazim Rehmat Salam Khattak, provincial information secretary Arshad Qureshi and some other leaders said that the PML-N would emerge as the largest political party in the coming general elections.

Asking President Pervez Musharraf to step down, the leaders said the prevailing flour crisis and loadshedding of electricity and gas were proofs of government’s failure. They said the rulers had lost the confidence of people.

They said Mian Mohammad Nawaz Sharif was not a provincial leader and claimed that the PML-N chief enjoyed public support from all the federating units. They said politics of Chaudhrys was limited to only their own constituencies.

They claimed that a large number of PML-Q members were joining PML-N.
