Inter-provincial athletics from today

Islamabad, Jan 13: Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) Inter-provincial Youth (under-17) Athletics (boys and girls) championships start on Monday, at the Jinnah Stadium, PSB Complex, Islamabad.

Teams from Sindh, Punjab, NWFP, Balochistan, the Northern Areas, Azad Kashmir, FATA and the Islamabad Sports Board are participating in the two-day affair which only holds players born on or after Jan 13, 1991 eligible to take part.

The strength of the boys’ teams is 15 players along with two officials whereas the girls’ teams will consist of 12 players and two officials.

The competition comprises 100, 200, 400, 800 and 1,500-metre races, 4x100 relay, long jump, high jump, shot put, javelin and discus throws.—PPI
