LONDON, Jan 15: European stock markets suffered a major sell-off on Tuesday in the face of gathering fears of recession in the United States and depressing corporate news.
The London FTSE 100 index plunged 3.06 per cent to close at 6,025.60 points, while in Paris the CAC 40 lost 2.83 per cent to finish at 5,250.82.—AFP
