3 Swabi men held over ‘suspicion’

HYDERABAD, Jan 16: The GOR police on Tuesday nabbed three people suspected of terrorism who were residents of Swabi, NWFP.

They were being interrogated by a joint investigation team of security intelligence and police officials.

They were found in possession of different cellphone SIMs.

The men were identified as Fahad Ameen, son of Mohammad Ameen; Faisal, son of Ismail; and Nabeel Ishtiaque son of Mohammad Ishtiaque.

Police sources said that they had arrived at the city on Jan 14 and were picked up from the room of a hotel, located in the jurisdiction of cantonment police station.

Source said the men were going to Karachi from Swabi but they stayed in the city.

They obtained a car on rent and visited different parts of the city. GOR police spotted them and picked them up from the hotel room.

Fahad and Faisal were residents of Panj Pao tehsil and district Swabi while Nabeel was a resident of Sama Khel Kotha, tehsil and district Swabi.

A senior official confirmed that they were being interrogated by a joint team of security agencies and police officials. However, their arrests have not been disclosed officially.
