Guyana threatens to sue WICB

GEORGETOWN, Jan 16: Guyana on Tuesday threatened to sue the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) for more than one million US dollars in ticket earnings that haven’t been delivered to the lone cricket-playing South American country.

“We’re very upset with the WICB, they have our money and they are not paying us,” Guyana’s President, Bharrat Jagdeo, said.

Guyana officials say they haven’t received their share of the gate receipts after more than 40,000 people attended six matches played at Guyana’s Providence Stadium.—AFP
