Khuzdar jail chief killed

QUETTA, Jan 18: Khuzdar Central Jail superintendent Sher Zaman Khan Tareen was shot dead by gunmen when he was returning home in his official vehicle after offering Friday prayers.

Police sources said the masked assailants fired a volley of shots killing Mr Tareen on the spot.

The driver of the vehicle escaped unhurt.

Hospital sources said that Mr Tareen had received multiple injuries in different parts of the body.

The assailants managed to escape.

Law-enforcement agencies were put on high alert in the town.—Staff Correspondent
