ABBOTTABAD, Jan 19: The Peshawar Electric Supply Company (Pesco) has warned all the provincial and federal government departments in Frontier province to clear the outstanding dues of Rs1 billion in 15 days otherwise power supply to them would be disconnected.

The Cantonment Board Abbottabad owes Rs4.405 million to the Pesco, while the Abbottabad Hill Trust has to pay Rs16.93 million.The Pesco issued notices to at least 49 provincial and federal departments, four of them cantonment boards, in the province to clear their outstanding dues.

The federal government departments which owe huge amounts to the utility are: the Cantt Board Peshawar Rs6.031 million, Cantt Board Dera Ismail Khan Rs7.968 million, Cantt Board Kohat Rs1.556 million, Cantt Board Nowshera Rs1.691 million, Gomal University Dera Ismail Khan Rs4.112 million, Political Agent Kurram Agency Rs1.082 million, Pak PWD Rs5.396 million, Military Dairy Farm

Rs3.819 million, Garrison Engineering Nowshera Rs11.354 million, Garrison Engineering Mardan Rs4.241 million, National Highways Authority Rs2.288 million, FATA DC Rs222.149 million, Pakistan Telecommunication Corporation Peshawar Rs18.699 million, Garrison Engineering Dera Ismail Khan Rs3.373 million, and FC Rs5.501 million.

The provincial departments defaulting on the Pesco dues include: the secretary services and administration department NWFP Rs4.19 million, NWFP police Rs7.298 million, prison department Rs1.531 million, health

and welfare departments Rs8.3110 million, TMA Town-I Peshawar Rs130.830 million, TMA Town-IV Peshawar Rs3.921 million, TMA

Kulachi Rs1.235 million,

TMA Bannu Rs4.01 million, CDMD Peshawar Rs11.11 million, TMA Dera Ismail Khan Rs4.79 million, TMA

Kohat Rs22.10 million, TMA Thall Rs1.55 million,

TMA Lakki Marwat Rs24.15 million, and Kohat Development Authority Rs9.43 million.
