SIALKOT, Jan 21: Deposed LHC judge Khwaja Muhammad Sharif has vowed to continue lawyers’ nation-wide struggle for the reinstatement of chief justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry and others judges.
Addressing a meeting of local lawyers at Sialkot district bar association here on Monday, Khwaja Sharif said the lawyers’ struggle would soon be fruitful in the form of the ouster of all dictators.
He ruled out any possibility of mediation with dictators and vowed to continue their efforts for the restoration of the 1973 Constitution in its true spirit and reinstatement of the Supreme Court judges deposed under the PCO. Khwaja Sharif said the future of Pakistan lay in the rule of law and early reinstatement of Supreme Court judges deposed under the PCO.
He said the lawyers’ community in Pakistan was completely united against the `assault’ on the judiciary. Earlier, Khwaja Sharif administrated oath to newly elected office-bearers of Sialkot DBA.
STRANGLED: A minor boy was found strangled near Daska Canal Bridge on Monday.
The body was shifted to Daska THQ Civil Hospital for autopsy.
Police are investigating into the matter.
