HYDERABAD: Anti-polio campaign

HYDERABAD, Jan 22: Polio eradication campaign got underway here on Tuesday with 2,97,020 children planned to be vaccinated during three-day drive.

This was disclosed by the Hyderabad district focal person Dr Altaf Hussain Khero during a press conference which was also addressed by Dr Ashfaq Qureshi.

He said 624 mobile teams had been formed with 79 fixed points and 31 transit points at bus stops adding the campaign will be managed by 21 zonal supervisors, five taluka supervisors, and 141 area in-charges, while the WHO and health officials will also oversee it.

Hyderabad was polio-free district but elsewhere in Sindh some 12 cases were reported, he said.—Correspondent
