ISLAMABAD, Jan 22: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast that the prevailing cold wave conditions will persist for another four to five days over most parts of the country and are likely to become more severe.
According to the Met office, due to the cold wave the night temperatures have fallen by two to six degrees Celsius below normal in many parts of the country.
The lowest minimum temperature was recorded at minus 17 degrees Celsius in Kalam, whereas temperature remained -2.5C in Islamabad, -2C in Rawalpindi, -2.2C in Lahore, -7.5C in Quetta, -1C in Peshawar and 6C in Karachi.
The Met office has forecast dry weather with severe cold conditions in most parts of the country. However, isolated rain may occur in Kashmir and adjoining hilly areas.
Similarly, there are chances of light rain in Northern Areas of the country as well.
