Open ranking tennis from Feb 1

KARACHI, Jan 22: The tennis activity in the city kicks-off with an Open ranking championship which gets into action at the DHA Sunset Club from Feb 1, the organisers announced on Tuesday.

The event which carries a total prize money of Rs10,000 will be played in the men’s singles, the ladies’ singles, the juniors’ under-17 singles and doubles, the girls’ under-17 singles, the boys’ under-15, under-13, under-11 singles, the boys and girls’ under-9 singles and mixed doubles.

The organisers have decided to enforce strict rules by not allowing any player to compete for more than two years in any age limit event.

All outstation players will be entitled a daily allowance of Rs250 until elimination. Last date for the submission of entries is Jan 29.
