QUETTA, Jan 24: The government of Balochistan has extended for 30 days the detention of Ali Ahmed Kurd, a former vice-chairman of the Pakistan Bar Council.

The home secretary’s order was served on Mr Kurd late on Wednesday. “Yes, I have been served the order of extension in my detention for 30 days,” Mr Kurd told Dawn.

He added that he had been stopped from meeting the president of the APDM, Mehmood Khan Achakzai, and MMA’s Liaquat Baloch.
