ISLAMABAD, Jan 27: In his first election rally in the federal capital on Sunday, former chief minister Punjab Chaudhry Parvaiz Elahi said people will reject PML-N leaders for their self-centred politics and the PPP because of its role in the dismemberment of Pakistan.

Speaking to the election rally at Karal chowk, Mr Elahi said his Pakistan Muslim League was a symbol of federation which on returning to power would remove the sense of deprivation from all the provinces.

He claimed that the Sharif brothers had permanently become ineligible for contesting polls, adding “while the elder brother was rejecting reconciliation with Musharraf the younger was trying to come to power through the back door.”

Mr Elahi outlined his party manifesto and made a number of promises with the local people on the occasion.

He announced to give ownership rights to the residents of G-6 quarters and to fix employment quota for the residents of Islamabad after returning to power.

He said all those who came to power from the southern Punjab in the past had failed to fulfil their promises with the people but he had completed record development works during his tenure of five years in the Punjab.

He alleged that the PPP was involved in breaking up of Pakistan and it was the peoples’ turn to reject it through the ballot.

He said the PML leaders and workers had suffered huge losses of life and property following the Liaquat Bagh tragedy and very soon the commission set up for the purpose would submit its report to unmask the faces behind these uncalled for riots.
