Two farmers kidnapped in Khairpur

KHAIRPUR, Jan 27: Two farmers, Ahsan Ali Jalbani and Zameer Jalbani were kidnapped near Saidi late on Saturday evening on their way to a sugar mill to deliver sugarcane on a tractor trolley late on Saturday evening.

Reports said that the two were in the tractor trolley when the incident took place. Later the empty trolley was found near Saidi Pul, Gambat taluka.

Police and relatives of the kidnapped men reached the place and followed foot-prints but no clue could be found till the filing of this report. The kidnapped villagers were residents of Soniyo Jalbani village, Kingri taluka.

A large number of people accompanied by relatives of kidnapped villagers staged a demonstration on tractor trolleys on the National Highway bypass near Shah Hussain chowk on Sunday, which led to suspension of traffic for one hour.

Police reached on the venue of demonstration and assured them of early recovery of the kidnapped villagers. Later, the villager dispersed peacefully.
