HYDERABAD, Jan 28: The vice-chancellor of the Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences Professor Noshad Ahmed Shaikh inaugurated a three-day free medical camp on Monday to vaccinate the university employees and students against hepatitis-B.He said at the inauguration ceremony that the university would conduct free of charge medical tests and provide treatment against hepatitis-B to all its employees, their families and students. The vaccination programme would also be extended to the students and employees of Sindh and Mehran universities, he said.

Liaquat University was the first university in Pakistan which had introduced health insurance scheme for all its employees, which covered free medical treatment up to Rs350,000.

The free medical camp set up set up with the cooperation of WHO and EPI health programme will vaccinate more than 4,000 employees and students.
