GUJRANWALA, Feb 5: Additional District and Sessions Judge Muhammad Saleem Opal has set a two-day deadline for some candidates, including those of the PML-Q, the PML-N and the PPP, to remove hoardings and wall-chalking regarding their election campaign.

A district bar member, Husain Sadiq Sahi moved the judge, who is also the returning officer, pleading that PML-Q aspirant Rana Shamshad Ahmad Khan, a former provincial minister, PML-N’s Mian

Asif Aqeel and PPP’s Imtiaz Safdar Warriach, contesting from NA-98, and former MPA Nasir Cheema, Dr Ghulam Sarwar and Shumaila Liaquat from PP-97 have installed boards along the GT

BIRD FLU: The district administration on Tuesday constituted three teams to survey the poultry farms to find out if there is any instance of bird flu.

Many people have stopped using chicken and eggs amid reports of bird flu in parts of the country and demanded that the district administration should take preventive measures.

Accordingly, District Coordination Officer Ather Husain Sayal convened a meeting of senior officers of the livestock department and ordered survey of the poultry farms.
