Mansoor in PSA Tour squash semis

KARACHI, Feb 7: Mansoor Zaman outplayed cousin Shahid Zaman in the quarter-finals of 3-star PSA Tour squash event at the Calcutta Rackets Club in Kolkata, India, according to the information available here.

Shahid, who stunned world No.16 Azlan Iskandar in the pre-quarters this week, could not match the superior skills of Mansoor and lost 5-11, 11-6,11-8,11-6 after a tough contest.

Mansoor, ranked 35 in the world, will now face third seed Omar Mosaad of Egypt who beat India’s Saurav Ghosal, the seventh seed, 11-8, 4-11, 11-9, 11-1.

Sixth seed Omar Abdel Aziz twice came from behind to upset Pakistan’s No.4 seed Aamir Atlas Khan in the quarter-final to ensure semis berth.

The 24-year-old from Cairo prevailed 6-11, 11-3, 7-11, 11-1, 11-7 in a gruelling 68-minute clash - the longest match of the day - to set up his surprise semi-final clash with Ong Beng Hee.
