SUKKUR: ST candidates quit race

SUKKUR, Feb 11: Two Sunni Tehrik candidates for NA-199, PS-4 and PS-1 on Monday pulled out of the race in favour of Pakistan People’s Party candidates.

Moulana Mohammad Mithal announced at a press conference at the press club that he was withdrawing from the race in favour of PPP’s Syed Khurshid Ahmed Shah and Syed Jawed Shah Jillani while Mohammad Imtiaz Ghumro announced he was quitting in favour of PPP’s Dr Nasrullah Baloch.

They said that the leaders and workers of Tehrik would extend full support to PPP candidates in their election campaign. Former federal minister and member of PPP’s central executive committee Islamuddin Shaikh and his son Nauman Shaikh, who is contesting for NA-198, and a number of Tehrik leaders were also present at the news conference.

KILLED: A speeding car crushed one Ali Raza Gopang, 33, to death when he was crossing the road at Naz bypass in the limits of Abad police station on Monday morning.

The car driver managed to escape and police impounded the car.
