Two PAEC officials kidnapped

LAKKI MARWAT, Feb 11: Two officials of the Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission, their driver and five local men were kidnapped on Monday in Sheikh Badin area adjacent to the Lakki Marwat and Dera Ismail Khan districts.

PAEC officials Ziaullah (principal technician), Bisaat Khan (junior technician) and driver Safdar had come to Darra Pezu town of Lakki Marwat to check a booster installed on the Sheikh Badin mountain.

Sources said the officials stayed overnight in Darra Pezu with two local men, Javed and Wahid, and left for the site in a pick-up.

The other people kidnapped with them were identified as Arsala, Waseem and Olus.

The sources said that some gunmen had intercepted the PAEC vehicle on a mountainous track and kidnapped all the eight men. The local men were later freed in Noorar area of Bannu district.
