HYDERABAD: MQM complains of threats

HYDERABAD, Feb 13: A member of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement zonal committee, Khalid Hussain, has said that their party candidates were being issued threats of dire consequences by opponents in certain areas and complaints have been lodged with the Election Commission in this regard.

Khalid Hussain said that people could see which political party’s supporters were staging rallies and removing banners and flags of opponents.

He said they had sent complaints to the Election Commission regarding excesses of a rival political party.He said that Mr Iqbal Qureshi had withdrawn from the election contest after taking inspiration from the MQM’s ideology. He said that the MQM’s doors were open for everyone.—BoC
