KARACHI, Feb 15: Two promising players from Sindh — Aadil Kohari and Nameer Shamsi —have stepped into three-member Pakistan team for the World Juniors’ Tennis competition (14 and under) which takes place in Malaysia from Feb 24 to March 2.

Ahmed Babar, who hails from Lahore, is the third member of the team.

Some 16 players took part in the open trials held at the Islamabad’s PTF Tennis Complex recently.

Meanwhile, according to PTF secretary, Rashid Khan, the Malaysia-bound Pakistan junior Davis Cup and Fed Cup teams will also feature in an ITF juniors’ tournament Group 4 being held at Malacca, Malaysia, from March 5 to 9 after completing their engagements in Kuching.

He feels that exposure of nine juniors in Malaysia will provide them an opportunity to further improve their skills.

The official informed that some junior players have just returned from India after undergoing month-long training at the expenses of the PTF.
