ISLAMABAD, Feb 18: Caretaker Prime Minister Mohammedmian Soomro on Monday felicitated the nation on the peaceful holding of elections and said that “enthusiastic participation of people” reflected their confidence in the democratic process.

He said that the holding of elections in Pakistan — a frontline state in the global war against terrorism — had become a focus of the world, including the media, and it would be a source of satisfaction for all.

“The way people have shown tolerance during the polling process, they should also accept the results and exhibit solidarity in the national interest,” the prime minister told the PTV.

Earlier, the prime minister visited the ‘Election City’ set up at the PTV. Minister for Information Nisar A. Memon and Information Secretary Syed Anwar Mehmood were present.—APP
