SUKKUR, Feb 20: The managing committee of the Sindh High Court Bar Association, Sukkur, has termed the elections a vote of no confidence in President Pervez Musharraf and asked him to step down in accordance with the wishes of the people of this country.

A meeting of the managing committee of the association was held here on Wednesday.

Sindh High Court Bar Association Sukkur President Imdad Awan chaired the meeting.

The meeting congratulated the people for giving clear verdict against President Musharraf and demanded of him to resign from his office.

In a resolution they appealed all the elected members of the National Assembly not to validate the actions of Nov 3, 2007, and demanded the restoration of deposed chief justice of Pakistan Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry and 60 other judges.

The bar association also demanded immediate release of all judges and advocates who were detained or were in house arrest.

They also congratulated the lawyers’ community especially the advocates of the Sindh for waging a war against President Musharraf’s rule.
