Two killed in separate incidents

RAWALPINDI, Feb 22: Two persons were killed in separate incidents in Kalar Syedan and Kotli Sattian on Friday, police said.

According to the police, in the first incident Arslan Mehmood was shot and injured by some unidentified persons.

He was shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital where he died.

In the second incident, Asad Ikhlaq was shot dead allegedly by his rival Hafeez.

The police said Asad had a brawl with Hafeez on Thursday but the issue was settled by some notables of the area.

Meanwhile, the anti-narcotics force foiled an attempt of heroine smuggling to Bangkok from the Islamabad airport and arrested a Thailand national (woman) and recovered 3kg of heroin from his baggage, airport sources said. The authorities arrested her and started investigation.

SHOs TRANSFERRED: City Police Officer Saud Aziz on Friday reshuffled four station house officers, an official source said.

Zaman Zia has been appointed as SHO Pirwadhai replacing inspector Khalid. Inspector Sardar Babar has been posted as SHO Sadiqabad replacing Haji Tariq.

Inspector Khudadad Lillah has been appointed as station house officer Gangmandi replacing Shaukat Hayat and Inspector Malik Afsar has been posted as station house officer Mandra police station.
