SUKKUR: Two policemen arrested

SUKKUR Feb 24: Two policemen of Pano Akil were detained on Saturday night for dereliction of duty.

Constables Faqir Muhammad and Saadullah, who were deployed at a police picket near a petrol pump, were found to be sleeping while on duty.

When they woke up they found their official weapons missing and informed the SHO Pano Akil that they had lost their weapons after an encounter with bandits.

The Sukkur police line had relayed that their patrolling party had taken away rifles of the sleeping policemen.

On this, the SHO Pano Akil Rana Nasrullah locked-up the policemen.

FIRE: A villager and eight cattle heads were brunt alive, when fire broke out in a mud-thatched house in Daloo Daro village in the limits of Khanpur police station in Shikarpur district early on Sunday morning.

The fire engulfed the house of Sunharo Kalhoro, which all of a sudden spread to nearby houses.
