KOHAT, Feb 24: A man was killed and his two sons and two other people were injured in a bomb blast in a car at the entrance of a filling station on the Bannu road on Sunday night.

The bomb disposal squad confirmed that a five kilogramme explosive device with timer had been planted in the car which blew up as it left an office at the SAFE CNG filling station. As a result, Mr Sultan died and his sons Muzammal and Mudassar were injured.

The family of the victims said Mr Sultan was a brother of the owner of the filling station and they had no enmity with anyone.

The injured were taken to the KDA medical complex from where Muzzamal referred to the Lady Reading Hospital in Peshawar.

The car was completely destroyed in the blast. Two other people were also injured and a vehicle parked in the filling station was partially damaged.

The fire brigade and police rushed to the scene but by then the filling station staff had overcome the fire and pulled out the dead and the injured.
