DADU, April 14: Two policemen and a Lasmo official were booked in Fazal Mari’s murder case at the Naing Sharif police station on Sunday.

The Naing Sharif police on the directives of the DPO, Dadu, Captain M. Tahir Naveed, registered an FIR under section 302, 324 QDO and 34 PPC against two policemen, Abdullah Bhutto and Khair M. Birahmani, and Lasmo official Wajahat Mazari.

The DPO, Dadu, also suspended both the policemen and directed the Naing Sharif police to arrest both as well as the Lasmo official.

While on the complaint of a Lasmo employee, Ashique Hussain, the Naing Sharif police registered an FIR under section 147, 148, 447, 427, 448, and 149 PPC against 30 unidentified Mari tribesmen.

In the meantime, a murder case has been registered against 45 protesters and four of them arrested by the Naing Sharif police on Sunday in the wake of the killing of a protester at Lasmo’s Bhit Jabal camp on Saturday during a clash between police and protesters.

The police raided various places around Bhit Jabal and arrested four people in the murder case of Fazal Mari who had been killed on Saturday in front of the main gate of the local camp of the Lasmo Company.

The police had registered an FIR under section 301, 302, 304, 337-A-II, 337 H-II, 337-A-I, 337 G-V QDO, 17 3HO, 353, 427, and 447 PPC against 45 Mari and Noohani tribesmen.

The SHO, Naing Sharif police station, had stated in the FIR that on Saturday 45 people, who were led by Sher Mohammed, Motio, Haji Sharif and Lal Bux Mari, held a demonstration in front of the main gate of the Lasmo camp at Bhit Jabal. When the protestors started to smash the doors and boundary walls, the police warned them to disperse. However, they snatched a government vehicle and 60 bullets from the possession of a constable, Khair M. Birhamani, and “started firing on the police and public” as a result of which Fazal Mari was killed on the spot and Ghulam Nabi was injured. The protesters also “injured eight police constables” who were on duty.

MAN KILLED: A man, M. Urs (25), was shot dead by five armed men in a hair cutting saloon in the fish market, Mehar town, some 60 kms from here, on Sunday.

A constable, Abdul Raheem, was also injured in the firing. He was taken to the taluka hospital Mehar.
