KARACHI, Feb 27: A central leader of the Jamhoori Watan Party, Shehzada Zafar Jan, has ruled out any possibility of dialogue for peace with the rulers as long as troops are deployed in the troubled areas of Balochistan.

The JWP leader maintained that the government was responsible for imposing war on Baloch people and it was, therefore, the government’s duty to create a congenial atmosphere for holding talks to find out a political solution to the Balochistan issue.

Responding to the statements of the PPP leadership regarding the Balochistan situation, he said that the Baloch people would in no way compromise on their basic rights, including the right of nationhood and the right to have control over their economic resources.

He said the Baloch people had been denied their basic rights for the last six decades and they had been subjected to military operations four times in the past. The Baloch people could not comprise on their basic rights and he ruled out the possibility of any talks as long as army was there and people were subjected to illegal detention and torture, he added.

He said that the government could initiate the process of dialogue by pulling out troops from the troubled areas and putting an end to hostilities.

The Baloch leader also condemned the recent bombing in Dera Bugti area. He said the Baloch political activists representing different parties would stage a rally outside the Karachi Press Club on Feb 29 after Friday prayers to protest against atrocities being committed on the Baloch people and to express solidarity with the people of Dera Bugti and Marri areas.
